“The FFF tournament was a fantastic two days. What a great bunch of passionate stream fishermen to spend the evenings and days with. An awesome experience providing a ton of support for family, friends and neighbors to help in a time of need.”

– Charles Goodrich

Fishing For The Fight is being hosted by a group of dedicate fly fisherman who have come together to organize an exciting new fly fishing competition. The proceeds generated from this event will go directly to families who are in the fight against cancer and those battling chronic illness.  We work closely with Kickin’ Cancer. Kickin’ Cancer was founded by April Lippincott, Steve James, and Norm Pape in 2003 to help those families FIGHTING cancer. The funds defray the costs of travel, food and lodging, a cost that results from living in a rural location far from cancer treatment centers.

This tournament is a “First, Most, Biggest” tournament, and the rules can be found on the rules page of this site. The tournament will take place on primarily private, world class fishing beats all around Sublette County (please see our YouTube channel for some fun videos of fish taken from these waters). The tournament will consist of one and a half (1.5) days of fishing. The tournament begins with a MEET & GREET on the Thursday before the first day of fishing. At the meet and greet everyone will enjoy wood fired pizzas, Hor d’oeuvres, and cocktails.  You will be assigned a beat, meet your guide, and arrange the details for the following days fishing.  The following Friday morning competition begins promptly at 8:00am and finishes at 4:59:59pm. That evening dinner will be provided by the FFF board with a cash bar. The next morning fishing starts promptly at 8:00am and concludes at 12:59:59pm. This will give the beats farthest from town time to get back and showered for the Banquet.

Teams will consist of two contestants (possible alternate, please see RULES for details). Beats will be graded for physical difficulty and technical difficulty (how hard the river is to walk-wade and get to) and fishing difficulty (casting lanes, distances, willow cover, etc.). Please keep this in mind as you build your teams. You should build your team based on having people that can fish and wade at all levels. Due to the unpredictable elements of this tournament such as unknown water conditions, weather, and the physically demanding nature of wade fishing, please be advised that it is not suitable for young children or anyone unable to handle unforeseen conditions.

Our Mission:

“To support those fighting cancer by coordinating fly-fishing tournaments on exceptional waters.”
